International Studies

International education serves both as an exciting academic advantage and a great personal learning experience. Students engaged in international studies will be exposed with various cultures. They will also be updated with the most modern cutting-edge technology. This will also provide a wider scope of knowledge. Analysing different economies and adapting to different environments will also be acquired or enhanced.  Students will learn to be more competitive and driven to excel.   The concept of travelling while learning mixes fun and knowledge.  This perk never fades its power of capturing everyone’s interest and curiosity.

Year 2006 was declared by United States as the Year of Study Abroad.  In their resolution, the US Senate unanimously emphasized that being globally literate should be taken as a serious responsibility of the educational system of the United States.  According to a 2002 study by the American Council for Education, only 1 percent of the total number of students in US applies for international studies each year.  This fact contradicts another finding of another poll that 79% of the US citizens agree that students should experience studying abroad.  US Senate emphasizes the importance of global and cultural awareness confronted with studies showing that 87% of 18-24 year-old students from US do not know where Iraq is in a world map.  Another 58% also cannot point Japan in the world map while a surprising 11% do not know where US is.
